With this new expansion, Pharmacists will be able to prescribe medications to patients with chronic diseases and common illnesses such as heartburn, eczema, and asthma. The first 12 clinics opened with this program have helped more than 5000 Nova Scotians.

Kingston, Ontario to develop new clinic to help families get much-needed care

Queens University is currently developing a plan to create a primary care clinic in former St. Mary's of the Lake hospital that would aid the physician shortage in Kingston Ontario. This clinic would help ease the almost two-year waitlist for families unable to find family doctors.

Southern Health Region Experiencing Extreme Spike in Whooping Cough Cases

As of Thursday, April 20, there are 35 confirmed cases of pertussis - whopping cough - in the Southern Health Region. This spike in cases, which is approaching pre-pandemic levels, has Dr. Davinder Sign, very concerned for the health of the region especially for those that are immunocompromised and/or unvaccinated. 1 to 4 Canadian die each year from whooping cough.
