Abstract:

According to a Canadian study, oral contraceptives may have an impact on how the brain regulates emotions, especially when it comes to processing fear. Scientists looking into the long-term effects of birth control pills on more than 150 million users worldwide discovered that the synthetic sex hormones in these tablets may have an impact on the fear processes in the brain.
