Study Finds Some Heart Patients May Safely Stop Blood Thinners

Abstract:

A global study co-led by Canadian researchers found that patients with successful atrial fibrillation ablation may not need lifelong blood thinners. After three years, stroke risk was equally low for those on aspirin and anticoagulants, suggesting many could safely discontinue blood-thinning therapy without increasing health risks.
