Ontario Cancer Patient Faces Barriers to Out-of-Country Treatment

Abstract:

A 37-year-old Ontario father with Stage 4 melanoma is challenging new provincial rules restricting public funding for treatments abroad. Despite winning a court ruling over denied coverage for experimental TIL therapy in Florida, his request was rejected again. The province says its revised regulations protect patients and taxpayers while drug funding reviews continue.
