Nursing Shortage Could Keep Medically Fragile Children from Going Back to School

Abstract:

Parents of medically fragile children say they are frustrated because a nursing shortage in Ontario means their children will not be able to attend school in person this fall. Their children, who suffer from complex medical conditions, need extra support to attend school and some of them require one-on-one care by a trained person at all times. The parents say they have been told that there are simply not enough publicly funded nurses to go around.
