Most Canadians Back Under-16 Social Media Ban

Abstract:

A new Angus Reid poll finds about three-quarters of Canadians support banning social media access for youth under 16, similar to Australia. Concerns include mental health harms, addiction, misinformation, predators, and cyberbullying. While many favour restrictions, most also believe parents—not governments—should take primary responsibility for regulating teens’ online activity overall.
