McMaster Researchers Develop Promising Drug to Prevent Brain Cancer Spread

Abstract:

Researchers at McMaster University have developed experimental drug candidates targeting the enzyme IMPDH2, which cancer cells use to spread to the brain. The treatment aims to prevent brain metastases from lung, breast, and skin cancers. Still in pre-clinical stages, researchers hope the once-daily pill could become available within five to 10 years.
