Ignoring Sleep Apnea May Raise Dementia Risk

Abstract:

A new study links untreated obstructive sleep apnea to increased brain microbleeds, which may heighten the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Experts urge early diagnosis and consistent treatment, like CPAP use, to protect long-term brain health. Loud snoring, fatigue, or breathing pauses during sleep are key warning signs.
