Researchers at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario have created the first AI algorithm, ThinkRare, to identify undiagnosed rare genetic disorders in children. Analyzing 260,000 patient records over a decade revealed 15 likely undiagnosed cases, speeding up diagnosis and potentially averting years of misdirected treatment.
