Breastfeeding Linked to Better Infant Sleep

Abstract:

A Japanese study of more than 82,000 mothers found that babies breastfed for the first six months were less likely to experience insufficient sleep than those fed only formula. Researchers believe breast milk’s natural melatonin and tryptophan support healthy sleep patterns, while combining breastfeeding with formula also showed positive sleep benefits.
